Books

We just read The Three Questions based on a story by Leo Tolstoy written and illustrated by Jon J. Muth to the kids.  A very good book, with a lot of deeper meaning for the parents in the room.

A's favorite story is The Green Pants With Nobody Inside Them by Dr. Seus.  It is a great story about prejudice that is silly enough for a two year old to enjoy and deep enough to begin talking about differences in society with a five year old.

Movies
We watched the Lorax with A.  I found that if you were not expecting it to be like the book it was awesome.  It had some great music and a had a lot of theological themes concerning stewardship of the world, and free will.  I loved when the man asks the Lorax to show him the thunder and lightening show of his descent.  The Lorax responds with I could but that is not how it works. Hmm think about that one for a bit.
